Multimedia Minutes: A Graphic Worth a Thousand Pictures
What do you do with a great interview — tough questions and all — when you’re not able to get it on camera?
Believing rightly that the information is king, KIDK’s (Idaho Falls, Pocatello) Steven Pope found the most basic solution. He created several graphics including this one.
In the most basic and convincing way, Steven was delivering on the station’s branding statement, Taking Action for You.
Of course, your first choice should be to get that interview on camera, starting with your questions. But when that’s not possible, you now have a Plan B, starting with your question.
On-camera storytelling — which Steven also delivered to avoid forcing weak video on viewers – is another way to present important information you can’t get on camera. And it’s far better to show you from the scene of the news development, like you see here, than sitting on set.
